How to survive air travel with an infant

As a new mum, a flight with your baby shouldn’t get you into panic mode, there’s no big deal in packing, the disruption of baby’s schedule and other passengers’ comfort. These are issues that suppose not to cause nightmare if thoughtfully planned.
Here are some guides on how to embark on air travel with an infant
Fly in the morning, not afternoon
Traveling with an infant is best suited in the morning, not in the evening; this is the best time when children are better rested, relaxed, more adaptable and happier. Flying them in the evening, they tend to be fussy and can cry at any little thing.
Reserve a Window Seat
A window seat works best for traveling with an infant. It gives you a bit of privacy for feeding or nursing an infant. You control the amount of light coming in via the window. Some infant like to look at wall of the window.
Going to the gate early can help you seat next to an unoccupied Seat
Most airline attendants can let you seat next to an empty seat if the plane isn’t full. This is a huge advantage for traveling with an infant; you can use Griffin’s car seat onboard to strap the baby in the empty seat.
Bring a Travel Companion
It’s nice to go along with an adult; it can be your spouse, friend or family member. This kind of arrangement will help you take a bathroom break or take a nap. Some nursing mothers don’t travel alone.
Bring Toys
Go with toys especially, your baby’s favorite ones. These will make the baby to be engaged and entertained.
Be Prepared to Nurse.
Wear a top or bra that can give a baby easy access, to be nursed. Allow the baby to enjoy and have fun.
Pack for Plane
Be creative when packing the baby bag, bring along things that will keep the baby in good hygienic condition, entertain and cover him or her. Infants like touching things in the plane, always use a wipe to keep germs at bay. Planes are full of germs and exposures. If the baby is not vaccinated, extra measures need to be adopted to keep him/her safe.
Bring a Baby Carrier
Bring baby carrier, if you don’t book for an extra seat. You can use the carrier to make them sleep. It works better than creating a bed on the airline tray.
Be Gentle With Yourself and Baby
Travel with a baby can be tough sometimes, take it easy when things are not going the way you expected. Find a way to calm the baby and calm your nerves when he/she is crying. Airlines can be uncomfortable sometimes, give your baby every attention he/she needs and be ready to breastfeed at every point in time.
Make friends with flight attendants,
Make friend with the flight attendant, and I tell you something, he/she will assist you tremendously especially if you’re alone. Make friends with people around; they could be of help when you need to use the restroom.
Keep bottles, pacifiers, and toys handy
Babies need things around them to feel and play with, make sure; you don’t lack toys or things to play with. Don’t keep any harmful object around your baby. Whatever you use should be trashed.
