Vacation planner: When to book flights to 25 top hottest US Destinations

Are you one of those who simply doesn’t understand why their vacations don’t turn out the way they expected? Perhaps you didn’t plan then the right way. Planning starts with booking your hotel room and plane ticket, if you need to fly to your destination. You should know that some destinations are more popular than others, and booking there should be done in a different way than some other places.

When do you go where?
Some places are vest enjoyed in summer while others in winter. Of course, there are those worth visiting at any time of the year, as well. If you want a nice vacation, make sure you know when it’s the best time to visit. If you’re on a budget, visiting in off season, or shoulder season, can bring you lower fares. The disadvantage is that you might not find all the attractions operational, or as many hotels and restaurants open as during peak season.

When do you book?
There are many guides out there teaching you when to book. Most of them agree that booking some 3 months in advance is the best time if you’re interested in a discounted ticket. At times, waiting for the last minute can also prove to be helpful especially if the airlines didn’t manage to fill all the seats on the plane – they lower the fares to attract new customers. If you don’t want to check the calendar so often, go through a booking process, but refrain to pay. Most likely, you’ll start receiving fare offers in your email, the next day even. But the price will be generally best on the 4th.

The middle of the week is best time to fly
Wednesdays are cheapest days to fly and many surveys can easily show you this. The cheapest day to book seems to be on Tuesday afternoon. If you take some days off for some holiday, make sure you fly a couple of days ahead of the actual holiday: the plane and airport will be less crowded. As for the day to return, a day or two before you must start working again would be better, still because of the crowd you may want to avoid.

Book an over night flight
Re-eye flights are least desired, however they’re cheaper, and could also be less crowded. If you’re lucky you might even sleep a bit on the plane, so that your eyes will not really turn red. Try and book both ways flights at night if possible if you want the lowest fares.

Search incognito
No matter when you want to book or search for a cheap flight, make sure you use an incognito window so that the websites will not remember you visited before. They use a special coding that will present you with higher prices once they see you always search for the same route in the regular browsing window. This is a scare tactic that seems to work on these who are not familiar with these websites and traveling in general.
